36% consumers watch movies on iPad

More than a third of consumers said they watch Hollywood movies and videos  on their apple iPad, according to a comScore survey regarding the Apple iPad device.

The Reston, Va.-based research firm found that 15% of respondents said they were seriously purchasing the mini computer, while 1% said they already done so.

Nearly half said they use the iPad for browsing the Internet (50%) and e-mail (48%), while more than one-third said they use it for listening to music (38%), reading books (37%), maintaining an address book/contact list (37%), storing and viewing photos (35%) and reading newspapers and magazines (34%). Watching movies and videos tallied 36%.

ComScore found that respondents already familiar with making digital content purchases via iTunes would have a relatively higher receptivity to making similar purchases on the iPad.
