How to Download Netflix Movies to the iPad?

The popular DVD-by-mail rental service Netflix is now also an online rental service. If you are a Netflix subscriber and have the Netflix App installed on your iPad, you can watch as many online movies as you like, as often as you like, as part of your subscription. But because the movies stream, rather than download, you have to be connected to the internet while watching. So if you have a long plane flight and wanted to be able to watch movies on iPad, or what if there is a weak Wi-Fi only? Is it possible to download movies from Netflix for watching offline?
