How to Find Movies and Showtimes on iPad With Siri

Apple’s Siri is one of the most innovative technologies offered by the Cupertino-based company thus far. One of Siri’s most helpful features included in iOS 6 is the ability to look up movie showtimes and reviews. Siri can help you find the latest flicks by location or showtimes. Can’t decide? Ask Siri to show you a movie trailer or a Rotten Tomatoes review. Siri is also quite the film buff: Find out when a film premiered, who directed it, and what awards it won. Or ask Siri which movies your favorite actors star in, so you won’t miss any of their past or future blockbusters.

So how to find movies and showtimes on your iPad with Siri?

  1. Press and hold down your Home button to activate Siri.
  2. Ask “Where is Prometheus is playing?” and get a list of movie theaters and showtimes for the movie.
  3. Wait for Siri to pull up a list of movies and their show times for today.
  4. Tap a movie to get more information, including cast and crew, rating, synopsis, and the trailer.

Here you can be even more specific if you want to, and mix in other criteria. For example, you can tell Siri to “find all g-rated movies playing in my area” or “find any movies starring Justin Timberlake playing near me”. Well, Siri’s Pixar-like personality is obviously a good fit for movie searching. It helps you find a movie, tell you where it’s playing and who’s in it, and show you its trailer and ratings to help you make your ticket-buying choice.
