How to Recover Lost or Deleted Files from iPad Mini
Mike sent us the question below.
I have accidentally and stupidly deleted my most recent iPad Mini back up (iTunes — Preferences — Devices — Delete Backup) that I now desperately need. The Backup is not in the Trash bin. Is it possible to retrieve the Backup file? Does anyone know? Is it somewhere on my computer, or is it gone forever? A solution would admittedly be better, though!
Yeah, the iPad Mini files could have been lost due to numerous reasons: numerous viruses exist that can corrupt files and lead to the loss of data; mishandling of the iPad like dropping it, and other external damages could lead to loss of data; human errors like deleting accidentally of the files could be another way that the data is lost.
Regardless of how the data is lost, a method will ensure that iPad mini files can be fully recovered. The use of an iPad data recovery can assist in retrieving those important files. Data Recovery for iTunes (for Mac users) or Dr.Fone (for Windows users) from Wondershare is a software that allows you to recover the lost images, photos, contacts, safari bookmarks and videos that used to be in your iPad mini. It fulfills the goal mainly by extracting files from iTunes backup of the device. Follow the steps below.
Steps to recover lost or deleted files from iPad mini
Step 1 Start the Program and Select iTunes Backup of Your iPad Mini to Scan
Here we try with Dr.Fone. For Mac users, you can use Wondershare Data Recovery for iTunes too. To get started, launch the program and connect your iPad to the computer. Then you’ll get the interface below. Choose “Recover from iOS Device”, the program currently only works with iPad 1, not including iPad 2 and new iPad.
Step 2 Enter the DFU mode and scan iPad
Enter the DFU mode and be ready to scan your iPad for all data. Don’t disconnect your iPad during the connection and scanning:
Hold your iPad and click “Start” button.
Pressing “Power” and “Home” buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, release “Power” button, but keep holding “Home” for another 10 seconds.
The software begins scanning your iPad when you’ve already entered the DFU mode.
Step 3 Preview and recover iPad data
The scanning takes you a few seconds. You can preview the found data when the scan begins. Check the data you want and mark them, then click “Recover” to save them all on your computer with one click.
