How to Rip and Play Blu-ray Movies on iPad Mini?

Days ago I got my iPad Mini and I’d like to know if I can watch my Blu-ray movies on it. I think its display is so nice to watch movies.  Thanks.

Well, Blu-ray (not Blue-ray) also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world’s leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson).

Blu-ray Movies are welcomed by movie buffs because its high quality video and audio effect. To play Blu-ray movies on iPad mini, your computer should have a Blu-ray drive and software that is capable to read Blu-ray movie. In this article, we will show you the easiest way to rip and play Blu-ray movies on iPad mini, even iPad 4th generation. The software we use is Tipard Blu-ray to iPad Ripper. We use it to decode the Blu-ray movie and encode it to an MP4 file which can be play easily on either computer or iPad mini. Now, let’s follow the steps below.

Step 1. Load the Blu-ray movie

 Insert Blu-ray disc to your BD driver. Open Blu-ray ripper, hit the first disc icon under the menu to load your Blu-ray movie.

Step 2. Set the format for the output video

To save the HD quality of the Blu-ray Movie, you need to choose iPad mini H.264 HD Video as the output profile. The specific settings as followed: H.264 encoder with a resolution of 1920*1080, 8000kbps video bitrate and 30fps frame rate. Audio’s settings should be AAC encoder with a 4800 Hz’s sample rate and 160kbps audio bitrate. If you don’t want large file, you can choose the normal profile of iPad mini from the drop-down list of Profile section.

Step 3. Select subtitle and audio language for iPad Mini H.264 MP4 videos.

Click the Subtitle option and you choose the prefer language you want from the drop-down list. The Blu-ray to iPad Mini converter will hard burn the selected subtitle to iPad Mini video, so that you can enjoy movies with hard-burned subtitles. Then click Audio to select the language like English, French to hear.

Step 4. Start ripping blu-ray movies to iPad Mini

When everything is done, just go to the bottom right hand side and hit the big convert icon to start conversion.

Step 5. Transfer the converted files to iPad Mini

Find the converted files by clicking the “Open” button. Run iTunes on your computer or Mac and Click “File”>” Add Files to Library”, then you can upload the converted Blu-ray files to iTunes Library.

Then you can connect your iPad with your computer via the USB cable. Check “Sync Movies” and choose the target files in “Movies” menu and click “Apply” to add Blu-ray movies to iPad Mini.
