iPad 3 News,Features,Rumors Roundup
It’s that magical time of year again, when everyone expects Apple’s third generation iPad 3 to be right around the corner. Recently lots of new iPad 3 rumors spreading has been rather interesting for Apple and the Apple community, but sometimes it can be difficult to cut through all the noise about the iPad 3 and find out which are the most relevant and important news and rumors, so here we’d give you the latest news update about the upcoming iPad 3.
Apple confirms iPad 3 event for March 7
Apple has sent out invitations to select members of the media inviting them to a special event on March 7. The tagline accompanying the invitation is “We have something you really have to see. And touch”. Apple is expected to unveil the third-geneartion iPad at the event; the device is expected to feature a Retina Display with four times the pixels, as well as 4G LTE connectivity and a new chipset. Let’s see and touch.
iPad 3 with 4G LTE compatibility
This week, rumors broke that appeared to confirm what many have speculated for some time: that the iPad 3 will offer 4G LTE support, offering fast and reliable data connection, and rapid download speeds. Our take? 4G LTE support seems like a no-brainer. What’s not clear is whether or not both AT&T and Verizon’s 4G networks will be supported.
iPad 3 may get 8MP camera
The rumor of an 8MP camera is one of the more recent rumors, and it does make sense that Apple would upgrade the rather sad dual-cameras introduced with the iPad 2. Will it be an 8MP camera? Perhaps. The iPad isn’t used as a camera nearly as often as the iPhone, but better camera support is always a plus.
iPad 3 with Retina display
The Apple lover were expecting the Retina Display feature on the iPad 2, however Apple has been working hard on developing an improved version of the Retina Display feature to include in the iPad 3. With the Retina Display feature, the screen resolution of the iPad 3 will be 2048 x 1536 pixels. However, it is said that the third version of the tablet is delayed due to Retina Display issues.
iPad 3 to feature Siri
Siri will almost certainly feature aboard Apple’s third-generation iPad device, the iPad 3. The news comes via 9to5Mac, which reports that the most recent iOS 5.1 beta features a settings menu called ‘About Privacy and Dictation,’ which does, we admit, look and sound very Siri-esque. Although Dictation is not actually functional on the iPad 2, 9to5Mac speculates that the new feature of the iOS 5.1 might eventually launch on the current iPad model, or it could mean an exclusive feature for the upcoming iPad 3.
iPad 3 to sport thinner, lighter battery
A recent Digitimes report said the iPad 3 will feature a thinner, lighter battery module. The report claimed that the iPad 3’s expected high-resolution, 2048 x 1536 display requires a much larger backlight than prior models, which may offset thickness gains earned from using a thinner battery. In addition, the report claims that the new battery will be required to meet CTIA IEEE 1625 standards for better quality and safety reliability.
iPad 3 with A6 processor chip
Probably the most interesting of these being that the iPad 3 will sport an A6 processor chip. The current iPad 2 has an A5 processor, exactly 1 “A” less than the iPad 3 will supposedly have (for you non-computer geeks). But in all seriousness, if this rumor is true, the iPad 3 could become the most powerful mobile device out there.
