Watch Live 2013 Wimbledon Tennis Free on iPad and iPhone

Stream Wimbledon tennis matches live when the 2013 tournament starts on Monday, June 24th.  Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament, and the most prestigious of the four major tennis tournaments.  It is played on the grass courts at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London as it has been since 1877. If you’re a tennis fan like myself, you definitely want to catch all the action especially when it comes to the Grand Slams. Thankfully, with your iOS devices in hand, you need never be more than a few taps away from all the latest tournament’s proceedings.

All good sporting events need an official iOS application, and Wimbledon is no exception. The free Wimbledon 2013 iPad application that is now available from the App Store has a whole host of features to keep you up to date with all the action if you can’t actually be there or in front of your TV. It provides all the live scores along with all the results and match statistics, and you can even plan your day with the full schedule of each days play provided. There is even a live blog along with profiles of all the players taking part in this year’s event and there are three live radio channels that cover the daily matches.

Two of these channels are dedicated to covering all the action from Centre Court as well as No.1 Court with live commentary from the matches. Other features of the app include detailed photos of the grounds, various videos, live time lapse images from the grounds, favourite player performance alerts, fan feedback, and much more.

ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app


ESPN is exclusively covering Wimbledon starting on June 24th. The network has planned 140 hours of LIVE telecasts in addition to 800 more on ESPN3’s multi-screen presentation. The majority of the matches (including all of the big singles matches) will be available on ESPN3.  You can stream Wimbledon on ESPN3 for free as long as you get your internet service from a participating provider.

You can also watch on the watchESPN app for iPhone/iPad. It is accessible in 55 million households to fans who receive ESPN’s linear networks as part of their video subscription via Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Verizon FiOS TV, Comcast Xfinity TV, Midcontinent Communications, Cablevision, Charter, Cox or AT&T U-verse.
