I am an iPad and iPhone user and have not found the device to be slow at any time. I would say its the best devices so far. The issue is with most novice users to iOS because of improper management of apps.

Compared to any other smart phone, iOS is the best.
I found if I turn off all open apps and switch wifi off for 5 sec then turn it back on fixes this issue most of the time but it doesn’t last for long, I.e. one video or 2 max.
I have the same problem. With the app or on safari with my fast Internet videos load fast at first and then stop loading completely about half way in the video. That’s it. I refresh the page and get the same problem. My computer loads YouTube videos in a second.
